• Kelly Terry, LCSW


    Shannon Grivas

    Kelly is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She obtained her Master’s of Social Work (MSW) from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). She has since been providing clinical services with individuals, families, and children in both in-home and outpatient therapy settings. She has received training in the areas of child development, CBT, play therapy, applied behavioral analysis, and trauma-focused treatment. Kelly works with children, adolescents, and adults.

    Areas of expertise include anxiety, mood disorders, behavioral challenges, ADHD, and adjustment difficulties. Kelly Terry seeks to meet clients where they are, this includes identifying areas that are preventing them from functioning at their best, helping to identify and achieve goals. Her focus is recognizing the importance of the client’s personal experience and addressing individual needs.

    Kelly is not currently paneled with insurance. She will give you a superbill for insurance reimbursement.

  • LaKia Lennon, LMSW


    LaKia Lennon

    LaKia is a Licensed Master of Social Worker. She received her MSW locally, from George Mason University (GMU). LaKia’s client population is varied, children, adolescents, and adults. She has experience working with all ages and diverse populations including service members, individuals in palliative care, and those requiring acute psychiatric treatment. Her areas of expertise deal with areas of depression, anxiety, and life transitions. She values the importance of cultural competence and creating a safe therapeutic environment for her clients.

    LaKia’s work experience has been largely centered around medical settings. She understands how acute and chronic illnesses can impact daily lives. As a result, she utilizes a person- centered, solution-focused approach in addition to cognitive behavioral interventions.
    Her philosophy is collaborative; together we will tackle the problems, fears and issues that are holding you back from experiencing life as you dreamed. There are no subjects that are taboo – she’s heard alot and not easily taken off guard. She believes everyone experiences difficulties at times and sees the decision to begin psychotherapy as a powerful first step that often leads to personal growth and positive life changes. She provides a safe place to talk.

    Deborah O’Brien

    Deborah is a qualified psychotherapist who is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and Certified Clinical Supervisor for mental health professionals. She received her Masters of Social Work (MSW) from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Deborah has over 20 years of experience in the mental health and social work field working with Anxiety, Trauma, ADHD, family challenges, and those who are addicted to drugs or alcohol. Her professional experience has included working as a Therapist, Clinical Supervisor, and Program Manager.

    Deborah started Fairfax Therapy Solutions in 2010 with the focus of
    assisting others with building more satisfying and secure lives through counseling. Fairfax Therapy Service is steadfast in the dedication to provide quality mental health treatment.

    Deborah O’Brien is specialized in areas of Child and Adolescent Therapy, Family Therapy, and Adult Individual Therapy. She does accept BC/BS insurance.

  • Margaret “Maggie” Gassert, LCSW


    Margaret Gassert

    Margaret “Maggie” Gassert provides psychotherapy services for children, adolescents, and young adults using a strength-based, solution-focused approach. She utilizes evidence-based, trauma-informed, cognitive and dialectical behavioral, play and art therapies, and motivational interviewing to reach treatment goals. She received her Bachelor’s in Health Promotion at American University and a Master’s of Social Work at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Maggie has experience working with individuals of all ages with a specialty area in family changes and adjustments, grief and loss, trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, crisis intervention and suicide, and behavioral challenges. She has worked in several residential and community co-occurring mental health and substance use programs for local governments, nonprofits, and other agencies. At this time, she does not accept insurance. She will meet with clients for a low fee rate. Maggie believes everyone should have access to mental health care and loves to work alongside clients to help them thrive and reach their goals.

    Jackie Sadiua

    Jackie provides administrative support to the Fairfax Therapy Solutions team. She graduated VCU with a Bachelor’s in Health Science and Psychology and has since been working with therapy professionals to include medical providers and clinical researchers. She volunteers as a research assistant at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in D.C.

    Shannon Grivas is a Licensed Mental Health Professional – Supervisee in Social Work. She received her Bachelor’s in Psychology from North Carolina State University and her Master’s of Social Work (MSW) from George Mason University. Her dedication to the field of mental health is evident through her years of volunteer work with nonprofit agengies focused on children. Shannon’s skill set was developed through experience, past and present with the adult population as well as school age children. Shannon’s focus has been individuals experiencing severe mental illness and families on both an in-home, community based, and outpatient setting.

    Her areas of knowledge include crisis intervention, anxiety, depression and behavior challenges. She utilizes person-centered, trauma-informed, strengths based practices along with methods from cognitive behavior therapy and motivational interviewing to help reach her clients’ goals. Shannon believes that everyone goes through hardships in their life. It is her goal to help each individual person learn the tools to help themselves through these times. She strives to work as a team with her clients to conduct a treatment that is best suited for them.

  • Alyssa Coan


    Alyssa Coan

    Alyssa Coan is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW). Alyssa has a Bachelor’s Degree in both Women and Ethnic Studies and a Bacheor’s Degree in Psychology with a concentration on military and trauma counseling. She utilizes a person-centered approach to work in collaboration with the client to help them overcome the obstacles of life so that they can reach their goals. Her belief is that therapy can assist in this process. Her focus is to provide a calm, nurturing and safe environment for the client to address their life goals.

    Alyssa’s belief is that compassion is a powerful force for dealing with suffering. Her philosphy is that compassion comes from being met with a nonjudgmental, listening ear. Part of the healing comes from working together with the therapist to aid the individual with self compassion enabling a healing environment for the soul.

    Her experience mirrors this belief system. After graduating with her Bachelor’s Alyssa’s counseling experience involved trauma and social work services with a nonprofit organization for domestic violence and sexual assault victims. She then moved on to began working with special needs and autistic children, doing in home life skills therapy work. While employed Alyssa also engaged in volunteer work a theraputic riding center. Additionally, in 2012 she helped out with food preparation for distribution after the Waldo Canyon fire.

    Alyssa Coan went back to enhance her skill set by obtaining her MSW from Walden University in 2018. She works with teens, young adults, and adults.
