Deborah O’Brien, LCSW
Deborah is a qualified psychotherapist who is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and Certified Clinical Supervisor for mental health professionals. She received her Masters of Social Work (MSW) from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Deborah has over 20 years of experience in the mental health and social work field working with Anxiety, Trauma, ADHD, family challenges, and those who are addicted to drugs or alcohol. Her professional experience has included working as a Therapist, Clinical Supervisor, and Program Manager. She received her MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Margaret “Maggie” Gassert, MSW
Margaret “Maggie” Gassert provides psychotherapy services for children, adolescents, and young adults using a strength-based, solution-focused approach. She utilizes evidence-based, trauma-informed, cognitive and dialectical behavioral, play and art therapies, and motivational interviewing to reach treatment goals. She received her Bachelor’s in Health Promotion at American University and a Master’s of Social Work at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Maggie has experience working with individuals of all ages with a specialty area in family changes and adjustments, grief and loss, trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, crisis intervention and suicide, and behavioral challenges. She has worked in several residential and community co-occurring mental health and substance use programs for local governments, nonprofits, and other agencies. Currently, she is working toward her LCSW. At this time, she does not accept insurance. She will meet with clients for a low fee rate. Maggie believes everyone should have access to mental health care and loves to work alongside clients to help them thrive and reach their goals.
Kelly Terry, LCSW
Kelly has received training in the areas of child development, CBT, play therapy, applied behavioral analysis, and trauma-focused treatment. Areas of expertise include children and families, mood disorders, behavioral challenges, ADHD, and adjustment challenges. She obtained her Master’s of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). She has since been providing clinical services with individuals, families, and children in the home and outpatient therapy settings. Her focus is recognizing the importance of the client’s personal experience and addressing individual needs. Kelly is not currently paneled with insurance. She will give you a superbill for insurance reimbursement.
Anabelle Hwang, MSW, LMSW
Anabelle Hwang is currently practicing social work as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Virginia. She received her MSW from George Mason University. Anabelle has been active in the field for 8 years.
Her therapy expertise has been through rich and varied clinical experience across a diverse population in outpatient and in-home settings. Anabelle’s background includes the treatment of individuals with depression, anxiety, PTSD, and severe mental disorders.
Her philosophy is therapy is a collaborative process centered on a secure and trusting relationship between client and therapist. She enjoys working with children, teens, young adults, and families that are seeking to learn skills, change behavior, feel better, and heal with an empathetic and trusting therapeutic relationship. She tailors her therapy to the needs of each individual in a supportive, nurturing, and non-judgmental environment.
Loretta Fredericks, LCSW
Loretta is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a specialty in treating adults with addictions, trauma, and life transitions. She has additional training in group psychotherapy, trauma treatment, and addiction treatment. Loretta is a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) and a certified Health Counselor through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York. Her education includes an MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University, and post-graduate training at the Washington School of Psychiatry with a two-year training program in clinical psychotherapy completed in 2012, and a three-year training program in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) completed in 2016.

Kim Truong, Office Administrator
Kim is our office manager. She is the current Vice President and former Treasurer at Mason’s Academy Health Chapter. Kim is bilingual in English and Vietnamese. Kim is having her Bachelor’s in Health Systems Management from George Mason University.
